2006 NAACP Leadership 500 Summit

NAACP Leadership 500 Summit

Dear Friend:

I am writing to invite you to be a part of the second
NAACP Leadership 500 Summit scheduled for December 7-10, 2006, at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort 9300 Emerald Coast Parkway, Destin, Florida.

Click here to learn more about the NAACP Leadership 500 Summit

Our first Summit was attended by more than 400 enthusiastic participants, who attended workshops in key NAACP focus areas such as health, education and economic empowerment.

This year's Summit themed "Leadership by Design: Ensuring Our Legacy" will emphasize finding ways to link the impressive range of professional skills its attendees already possess with the work of the NAACP.

The Summit is a creation of NAACP Vice Chair Roslyn Brock who is reaching out to experts and leaders in the 30 – 50 year old age range as this group represents the "third wave" of leaders who have already benefited from the labor and sacrifices of the early civil rights movement. "Leadership 500" looks forward to tapping into the unique talent pool of this generation as the NAACP approaches its Centennial of civil rights advocacy.

We know that your presence and involvement will add immeasurably to this family friendly event. We have planned a series of special workshops, plenary sessions and dialogues between participants and guests speakers.

NAACP President/CEO, Bruce S. Gordon will be the opening speaker whose subject is "Reinvigorating the Civil Rights Movement... The Charge To Black Leadership."

There will be prominent speakers and leaders from business, academic, health, religious and civil rights arenas. There will also be networking opportunities, social gatherings and entertainment included during the weekend. We suggest you might have a friend or associate join you to share this experience.

Please visit the NAACP website: www.naacp.org, email mbrnaacp@aol.com or call 212.344.7474 ext.#101, or #109 to register and make your hotel reservations for the Leadership 500 Summit.

You are part of a vital force for "New Leadership By Design: Ensuring our Legacy."

We look forward to having you join our host, NAACP Vice Chair, Roslyn Brock, and me, as we convene for another singular gathering of talented young leaders.

Sincerely,

Julian Bond
Chairman
