Dayton Peace Museum Sponsors
Its First Global Warming Awareness Day
Saturday, April 14, 2007 - Noon-3:00 PM
At the Dayton International Peace Museum
208 W. Monument Avenue, Dayton, Ohio
The Dayton International Peace Museum will sponsor its first Global Warming
Awareness Day on Saturday April 14th, from noon to 3:00 P.M. on the grounds
of the International Peace Museum in downtown Dayton.
This event will include exhibits and activities that teach children and
adults about global warming and energy conservation. Activities will
include t-shirt making, music, singing, games, and face painting. Free
energy-saving light bulbs will be available, along with free portraits and
plants for children.
Global Warming Awareness Day was conceived as Dayton's contribution to the
"Step it Up America 2007" campaign, which is coordinating more than 800
rallies all across the country on April 14th. One of the goals of this
"National Day of Climate Action" is to encourage the U.S. Congress to pass
legislation that will cut carbon emissions 80% by the year 2050.
Dayton's Global Warming Awareness Day is free and open to the public.
