Political Action Committee Mission
The Political Action Committee works to ensure voter empowerment through providing awareness, training, and programmatic support to ensure registration, education, administration, and election protection. The NAACP has developed a nonpartisan voter empowerment program designed to empower African American and people of color by increasing awareness and participation in the electoral process. The Political Action Committee will support the NAACP’s mission to ensure political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination, through implementing the various initiatives.
The Political Action Committee seeks to increase registration and voting. Works for the enactment of municipal, state and federal legislation designed to improve the educational, political and economic status of minority groups. Seeks the repeal of racially discriminatory legislation. Works to improve the administration of justice. Works to secure equal enforcement of the law. Keeps the National Office and the Unit informed of all proposed legislation which affects minority groups. The Committee is nonpartisan and does not endorse candidates for public office.
